Our story

My name is Karmen Ball-Brown, and I am the Founder and Creative Director of Curated With Karmen, LLC. I am a fourth-generation entrepreneur, deeply rooted in a legacy of leadership, innovation, and community impact.
My great-grandfather, Levi, was a Howard University alumnus, community developer, and faith leader who served and uplifted his community for over 38 years. My grandfather was an electronics engineer who owned and operated a repair business in New York City, and my father was a wholesale distributor and product merchandiser who founded G.E.K. and Sons. This lineage of entrepreneurship and service has shaped my commitment to purposeful work and intentional creation.
Inspired by my heritage, I have embraced my role as a curator of spaces and a brand storyteller. I believe that intentional spaces inspire intentional brands. I approach branding the same way I design environments—with intention, feeling, and a deep understanding of how people experience them.
Through Curated With Karmen, I work with purpose-driven leaders to develop brands that are not only visually compelling, but meaningful, strategic, and enduring. I help clients align their brand with their values, creating experiences that resonate deeply and leave a lasting impression.

We define your vision with clarity, ensuring every decision is aligned with your brand’s identity. From there, we source materials and elements that embody your brand’s character and values. The final installation results in a cohesive, luxury experience that communicates your brand effortlessly.
Your business partners with artisans to co-create visual, experimental, or storytelling elements that elevate the brand’s identity. Elements may include living walls, wood paneling, lighting installations, and custom furniture.
Brand Zine is a social-emotional youth program designed for emerging graduates who are passionate about design, storytelling, and personal branding. This program supports school districts looking for career and college readiness training to implement within the school day. This program is facilitated by college mentors who major in design, interior design, business, and entrepreneurship. Participants receive the Brand Zine coursebook and engage in a group brand project.
